  • Enjoy the Beaches:  For many visitors from Northern Europe and the US, spring is the preferred season to visit São Jacinto, as the weather is usually mild and sunny. Take a stroll on beautiful Praia de São Jacinto (São Jacinto beach) and soak in the sun.
  • Explore  São Jacinto Nature Reserve This protected area is a must-visit for birdwatchers and other nature lovers. April/May is migration season for some species, so make sure to bring your binoculars and camera when out and about.   • Visit downtown Aveiro: Take a short ferry + bus  ride to downtown Aveiro and explore its canals and colorful boats, the "moliceiros". Don't forget to try the traditional sweets called Ovos Moles.
  • Take a bike ride:  Rent a bike in Aveiro and explore the bike paths around the estuary. April and May are excellent months to enjoy the mild weather and beautiful landscapes. Don't forget to wear sunscreen and bring some water.
  • Taste the local seafood:  São Jacinto's restaurants have a wide variety of seafood dishes to offer. Make sure to try the fresh fish, shellfish, and Aveiro's local specialty, eel stew.
